Vertical shaft mixer is a type of forced mixer widely used in some large concrete mixing plant equipment. It is commonly used for mixing dry and hard concrete (roller compacted concrete), as well as for producing blocks and prefabricated components. It can also be used to manufacture steel fiber reinforced concrete, colored concrete, and dry mortar. This type of mixer has high performance and excellent performance in mixing fine aggregates. Some domestic manufacturers call it a grinding wheel with high mixing strength. There are mainly two types of vertical axis planetary mixers: fixed axis and fixed disc.

The so-called fixed axis type means that the shaft only rotates on its own without revolving, and the turntable rotates to achieve mixing, which consumes a lot of energy; The fixed disc mixer, on the other hand, is driven by the revolution and rotation of the vertical shaft, without moving the disc, to achieve mixing. The design and working principle of the main mixing system of the mixer are basically the same, which is achieved by mixing the materials through the mixing arm and mixing blades. They are fixed on the driven plate and planetary carrier, and the mixing blades connected to the planetary carrier only perform orbital motion to achieve the scraping function. The mixing blades connected to the driven plate rotate and revolve to achieve the mixing function.
